The leather is hot dipped in waxes and oils at the tannery for water resistance, and to reveal color tones and "pull-up" only a premium leather can offer. It has an initial buffed finish that quickly develops into a rich patina.

This was the first product released by ARTIFACT back in 2010. It filled a void in the market for those wanting a lunch carrier that wasn’t bright colored nylon, a bulbous plastic cooler, a retro lunch box, a tiny bento box, or even a plastic grocery bag. Our tote has been imitated to the point of ubiquity but often with ill proportions and lesser materials. It landed us our first appearance in The New York Times and enabled ARTIFACT to graduate from side project to career move. Woohoo!
