Position: Sewing Specialist (Part-Time, ARTIFACT Studio)
Location: Omaha, NE
Schedule: Part-time (Flexible hours, 15–25 hrs/week M-F)
Compensation: Based on experience
Overview:
Join our small but dedicated team at ARTIFACT, where we handcraft timeless, high-quality goods in our Omaha studio. We’re looking for a part-time Sewing Specialist with strong attention to detail and a passion for craftsmanship. This position involves sewing bags, aprons, and accessories using industrial sewing equipment in a studio environment focused on quality over quantity.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate industrial sewing machines (walking foot, post bed, etc.)

Construct canvas, twill, denim, and leather goods from start to finish

Follow production patterns and processes accurately

Inspect finished goods for quality assurance

Maintain a clean and organized workspace

Collaborate with the team to improve workflow and efficiency

Qualifications:

Prior experience sewing, preferably in a production or craft-based setting

Comfort with heavy fabrics and industrial machines (we’ll train the right candidate)

Dependable and able to work independently or with a small team

Overview:
ARTIFACT is hiring a hands-on Production and Fulfillment Specialist to support our small team in the making of our handcrafted goods. This role involves preparing materials, cutting fabric, finishing sewn products, picking and packing orders, and helping keep the studio running smoothly. Ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, values craftsmanship, and takes pride in precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:

Cut fabrics, leathers, and webbing using patterns and studio equipment (rotary cutter, retractable knife, clicker press, etc.)

Perform finishing tasks such as trimming threads, pressing seams, installing hardware, and quality checking sewn goods

Keep tools and materials organized and ready for production

Maintain a clean, well-stocked studio environment

Assist with packing and shipping orders
Work Culture:
ARTIFACT is a small, open-concept studio where everything happens in-house — from cutting and sewing to shipping and customer service. This role offers exposure to all areas of small-scale manufacturing and studio operations. You’ll work shoulder to shoulder with skilled craftspeople and directly contribute to the creation of our goods. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to learn how a small business operates behind the scenes, gain hands-on experience, and be part of a creative, hardworking team.
Qualifications:

Comfortable using cutting tools and hand tools (we’ll train the right candidate)

Able to follow patterns and instructions with precision

Detail-oriented and efficient; able to do repetitive tasks with consistency

Physically able to stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs during shifts

Reliable, organized, and motivated to support a small team

Interest in handcrafted goods and small-scale production is a plus
