The No.705 Field Bag grew out of our fascination with vintage military field gear and the ingenuity of purpose-built equipment.

Its design draws inspiration from several historical bags: the WWI-era American and British officer's field bags, the M-1936 Musette Bag, the WWII M6 Gas Mask Bag, and traditional European game bags. Each was designed to serve a particular purpose, with practical details and construction methods that have stood the test of time.

The No.705 brings together elements of these designs, reinterpreted for contemporary life. We've retained the utility and character of the originals while adapting the proportions, storage, and organization to accommodate laptops and the other essentials we carry today.

Constructed from heavyweight waxed cotton, full-grain leather, and durable metal hardware, each bag is cut, sewn, and assembled in small batches at our Omaha studio. It's our interpretation of a classic field bag, made for the way we live and work today.

We select materials for their durability, utility, and ability to develop character through years of use.

Waxed Twill: Heavyweight, 18 oz. water-repellent waxed cotton twill with hand-aged solid brass hardware.
Leather: Full-grain Horween® Dublin leather from Chicago, Illinois, complemented by vegetable-tanned bridle leather.

Our waxed cotton and leather develop a distinctive patina with use. Creases, marks, and variations in the finish are natural characteristics of these materials.

Care

Waxed Cotton: Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash, dry clean, or use detergents. Allow to air dry away from direct heat and sunlight.

Leather: Our leathers are conditioned at the tannery and require little maintenance under normal use. Wipe clean with a damp cloth as needed. If the leather becomes wet, allow it to dry naturally, away from direct heat. Additional conditioning is generally unnecessary with normal use.
